Navy and yellow, not black and silver
Celestial designs usually go one of two ways: stark black with white stars, or a busy galaxy print. These sit between the two. A deep navy ground with warm yellow line work, drawn thin enough to read as engraving rather than clip art, so the case looks like an object rather than a poster.
The same sky at three scales
A star pattern that reads well on a 5 by 7.5 inch Kindle panel turns into scattered dots on a phone case if you simply shrink it. Each celestial print is redrawn per product instead: tighter spacing and finer lines on the phone case, more open composition on the Kindle cover. That is why the two look like a set in person rather than only in a product photo.
Worth knowing about light lines on dark
Fine yellow line work on a dark ground is the most demanding combination we print. On a glossy phone case the contrast is at its sharpest. On matte it softens by a fraction, which some people prefer for a quieter look. On the Kindle case the print is UV cured onto Saffiano texture, so the finest lines pick up a very slight grain.
Celestial cases FAQ
Which products come in celestial prints?
Phone cases in slim and tough builds, and Kindle cases. More products follow as the design library grows.
Is the print metallic?
No. It is a flat printed yellow, not foil or metal, so it does not catch the light like foil, and it cannot rub or flake off either.
Glossy or matte for this print?
Glossy keeps the contrast between the navy and the yellow at its sharpest. Matte softens it slightly and hides fingerprints, which matters more on a dark case than a light one.
Do the phone case and Kindle case match exactly?
They share the palette and the motif, but the pattern is redrawn per product so the scale suits each surface. Side by side they read as a set.
Is this a Halloween design?
It sits well alongside our Halloween prints in October, but it is not a seasonal design. Navy celestial works year round.
